Andrea Saldaña, Mexican writer, communicator and activist. Andrea unfolds a narrative on topics such as life, love and death in which analytical, philosophical and playful edges wander. The award-winning writer and critic from Tabasco, Dionisio Morales writes about his work "the story is reaffirmed or diluted and gives way to narratives with endings where certain stark and often poetic touches are identified."

Que ha creado?

A sample of his poetry won first place in the Celaya Guanajuato National Poetry Contest in 1986. Some of his poems have been set to music. The poetic and musical creation has been linked in several videos that are available on the YouTube platform

Andrea Saldaña has published 8 books with local, national and US publishers. Two of them with English translation. He has presented his work on stages in Mexico and the USA where literature, art and social activism meet edges of common interest.

Your focus?

His communication work has mainly focused on literary, health and human rights issues. Since the beginning of 2016 Andrea Saldaña has been the owner of the radio program Mujeres de Hoy of Radio Claret America in the US, and since 2019 she collaborates weekly with RadioMéxico.MX presenting Micro Capsules with health issues and its social determinants.

He has combined these activities with research, teaching and training and a committed work in leadership positions at the state and national level for the health sector in governmental and non-governmental organizations.
