In a few seconds the DC 9 looked like a toy in the middle of the storm. Lightning flashes illuminated the darkness and made it possible to see how the rain increased. The others don't care. However, it bothers me that I don't know. I try to remember again. I look for some clue, it seems that my memory hasn't answered me since then... I see myself walking in the corridor again. I located my place: row 10, seat “C”, I placed my briefcase and trench coat on top. My seat mates and an elderly couple continued their conversation. A slight nod of his head was the answer to my greeting.
The signs came on and a voice told them to fasten their seat belts and not to smoke. The plane headed for one of the runways and took off. The lights went out. Drink service stopped probably no one cared. The lights came back on and a voice warned us to stay in our seats, fasten our seat belts and remain calm. A swaying and several sudden movements began, due to which they caused restlessness, then fear, anguish and tears.
In the woods.
I remembered that my insurance and all papers were in order. I tried to reassure myself by rereading the emergency landing instructions. I noticed that my hands were sweating and a slight tremor made it difficult for me to focus on the words and pictures. The couple next to me began to pray”the magnificent”. Other passengers tried to talk to their relatives behind them to reiterate their affection. A young woman fainted, consequently this caused the request for help and further confusion in all of us. The feeling of helplessness and vulnerability was almost unbearable. The assistants laboriously circulated through the corridors, it seems that they were trying to calm and help the passengers.
Dizziness began to appear in my mind and it was a difficult feeling to put off. I didn't find any motion sickness bags on the backrest in front of me. Therefore, I took a deep breath and closed my eyes feeling that I could no longer hold back the vomit. In conclusion, I perceived a bright light and a deafening noise…or was it the other way around?
I do not know. I just can't remember anything else. Finally I just look at the charred bodies. In the forest, scattered and not knowing for sure... which of all is mine.
