Writing poetry is audacious. Translating it is a delicate task. Both actions carry a commitment. Admittedly, my poetry, written in free verse, eliminates the challenge of dealing with rhyme and meter. However, it requires cadence, the right words and their meaning, reasonable synonyms, not forgetting rhythm, harmony and euphony, respecting the context, the culture, the theme, even the relevance of the orthographic signs. I wonder if the poems, their words and their intentions, were just as they were looking for. I know that Elsa Prado and I try to protect the English version, we take care of it and we protect it, I am sure with similar passion. Both, we hope you enjoy it in Spanish, in English, in both languages.
